Within the “ex Caserma Serena” complex, the “Comando” building, unused by the CAS managing body, is suitable to be used and quickly set up to accommodate up to a maximum of 100 people, in compliance with the hygienic and sanitary conditions provided for by the regulations in force; in the above-mentioned building a temporary reception center will be built in accordance with art. 11, paragraph 2 - bis, of Legislative Decree. 142/2015 already referred to above, in which - pending the identification of availability of places in the government centers referred to in Article 9 or in the facilities referred to in Article 11, paragraph 2, active in the province of Treviso - the reception of asylum seekers will be ensured for the time strictly necessary with the provision of services concerning food, lodging, clothing, health care and linguistic-cultural mediation, according to the provisions contained in the outline of the tender specifications referred to in Article 12.
It is in addition to the CAS places at the same state-owned property called “ex Caserma Serena” (nr. 450 people), from April 11, 2023, between the Prefecture - U.T.G. of Treviso and the company “Nova Facility S.r.l.”, as per the Convention for the entrusting of management services for the reception of applicants for international protection.
In the barracks complex, 800 presences have been reached and exceeded. It is hard to tell which ones in the CAS and which ones in the temporary center. It arouses attention and concern about the role of the managing entity, which has a history and previous experience in quite different sectors (that of construction) and which manages several large collective centers, mainly in former military barracks and the like.
